For patients with existing Regent's Park Surgery or Grove Medical Practice Online Repeat Prescription accounts, you will need to create a new account for the Shirley Health Partnership. This is for security reasons.
We now require 72 hours notice for a repeat and non-urgent hospital prescriptions to be authorised by your Doctor. Please allow for extra time for weekends and Bank Holidays. You will also need to allow on top of this an additional 48 hours* for your Chemist to process all authorised prescription requests once received. A total of 5 (five) working days should be allowed for the repeat prescription process from submission of the prescription to dispencing of the prescription.
* Subject to medication availability, may take longer, your Chemist will advise you of this.
We have chosen to extend our turnaround from 48 to 72 hours to improve patient safety. This now allows your own Registered GP to sign your repeat prescriptions, as not all our GPs work every day.
Please note the prescription desk closes at 6.00 pm daily.
You can order up to 2 (two) weeks in advance of your due date for prescription requests. If you submit requests more than 2 (two) weeks in advance these requests will be rejected. If you have exceptional circumstances for placing a request more than 2 (two) weeks in advance please contact either the reception manager or medicines manager in the first instance.
It is your responsibility to ensure that you do not run out of your medications. However in unfortunate event this happens, you can contact your regular dispensing pharmacy and ask for an emergency supply, and then get in touch with us as soon as possible.
We have a computerised repeat prescription service. Repeat prescriptions are normally for patients with long-term conditions who receive regular treatment. Your doctor will decide if you can have a repeat prescription.
You can ask for a repeat prescription in any of the following ways:
- By calling into the surgery in person during opening hours and leaving a written request at our (unmanned) repeat prescription desk.
- By posting a request of what you require through the secured letter box located to the right of the main entrance to the surgery. when we are closed
- By post, including a stamped addressed envelope if you want it posted back to you
- Online via the link at the top of this page. New users are required to complete a simple registration process
Please note we do not take prescription requests by telephone, as this is shown to increase the risk of errors.
Please do not ask anyone under 16 years to collect a prescription.
Pharmacy Collection Service
Some local pharmacies collect prescriptions from the surgery so that you can collect the medication without having to first collect your prescription and then taking it to the pharmacy, please ask at reception for further information if you would like to use this service.
Electronic Prescription Service (EPS)
We also are registered to provide Electronic Prescriptions. Follow this link to a leaflet with more info. We think this service is a good thing because it saves us so much administration time, avoids lost prescriptions and is ultimately safer for you. We can then use the time we used to spend pushing thousands of pieces of paper through reception each week in order to improve our service in other areas. The more people sign up the more time we get back to do this so - please sign up!
Patients on repeat medication will be asked to contact a doctor, nurse practitioner or practice nurse at least once a year to review these regular medications and notification should appear on your repeat slip.
Please ensure that you book an appropriate appointment to avoid unnecessary delays to further prescriptions.
Oral Contraceptive Pills (OCP)
Before requests for OCP can be authorised a current weight and Blood pressure measurement must be taken and recorded. Both a weight and Blood pressure machine these are available in the waiting room. Please record these measurements and attach them with your prescription request.
Please note the reception prescription desk closes at 6.00 pm daily.
