Car Parking
Car Parking Availability
Parking availability at Shirley Health Partnership (SHP) is restricted by parking spaces available to park, so SHP need a regular turnover of spaces, so spaces are available for all our patients and parking priority is for patients with appointments with clinicians here at SHP.
To help keep a regular turnover of spaces, Parking Eye manage our car park on our behalf, this enables a better parking experience for patients. SHP cannot allow unrestricted access for parking, we are also located near to shops and restaurants so it is important that car parking is not abused at our site.
About Parking Eye
In agreement with Parking Eye, who manage the car park, the following terms and conditions apply, which are displayed in the car park.
There is a 10 minute waiver period for all motorists when first coming onto the site, this allows for pick ups and drop offs, without having to register their vehicle.
For all patients (and visitors) coming onto the site they are subject to the terms and conditions for parking at SHP. To enable this free parking period, drivers of vehicles must input their Vehicle registration Number (VRN) into 1 of the 2 terminals, located in the main entrance.
When visitors to the site arriving by car require to stay for longer than permitted period of parking, there is plenty of alternative parking locally, including:
- 2 hours free parking at Cannon Street no return (10 min walk), Howards Grove (8 min walk), Marlborough Road (12 min walk). Paid parking Howards Grove & Marlborough Road £1.00 for 4 hours.
- Street parking around the high street is free but restricted to 2 hours no return between 8am and 6pm.
Using public transport, walking, or cycling has many benefits – not just for you, but for the environment. Walking and cycling are fantastic ways to get some exercise. When you choose public transport, walking or cycling over driving a car, you’re reducing your carbon footprint, there will be fewer cars on the road which mean less air pollution and greenhouse gas emissions.
Other benefits include cost savings of running a car, less traffic and parking stress, community observations and of course reduced congestion.
