How to Request a Home Visit
We are delighted to offer home visits for patients who are truly housebound or too unwell to attend the surgery. However before requesting a visit we ask you to bear in mind that we can see several patients in the practice in the time that it takes to make one home visit. We also have much better facilities for examining and treating patients at the Health Centre.
Your GP will only visit you at home if they think that your medical condition requires it, and will also decide how urgently a visit is needed. Please bear this in mind and be prepared to provide sufficient details to enable the doctor to schedule house calls. You can also be visited at home by a community nurse if this is appropriate and you are referred by your GP.
If you would like to request a visit please call us before 10.00am (if possible) as this helps us plan our day.
We will always try to speak to you before visiting and we may encourage you to come to the surgery where we have your full records, access to specialist equipment, can carry out tests more easily and prescribe drugs safely.
If you do not think you need a home visit, but need an urgent same day appointment, please speak to one of our reception team by calling 023 8078 3611.
